ARNIONE is the Italian word for a kidney-shaped lump of alabaster, the heart of top-quality, valuable gypsum. It alludes to the art of carving alabaster, for which this part of Tuscany is renowned. ADEO is the name of a 3rd century BC Greek essayist. Born in Mytilene, he wrote various treatises, including one about sculpture and another on the art of wine-making. ACHENIO è il nome con il quale si identifica il frutto dell’albero della Sughera. Un significato importante legato diret-tamente al nome dell’azienda agricola. ARIOSO is a simple name meaning "airy". It is linked to the summer, the open air and Bolgheri's typical sea breezes, ideal for making fresh, light white wines.
Grappa di ARNIONE is made from the finest pomace of the company's best grapes, steam distilled in small copper vats and aged for around 12 months in new 225-litre French oak barrels (Tronçais d'Allier).
