The aim of the association is to spread the fame of an area blessed with natural resources through its top quality food products, with wine in pride of place.

This association brings together the three main areas of the wine profession: growers, winemakers and bottlers, all of whom are part of the chain of production of Bolgheri D.O.C. wines. It is worth noting that most of those active in the local wine business are both producers and bottlers who oversee the entire growing, winemaking and bottling cycle, while there are no cooperatives or collective wineries in operation.

The wines from the Tuscan Coast which might be termed Grand Cru come mainly from five provinces - Massa, Lucca, Pisa, Livorno and Grosseto - all in an area which feels the effects of the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea. The sea breezes and aromas make this stretch of coast absolutely unique, because if there is a common denominator in these wines, it is the sea influence which builds their overall character, with differences from one micro-region to another

This newly-founded association came about following the meeting of five women from different professional backgrounds who were united by a common desire to highlight the quality of local food and wine. The aim is to care for visitors to the area throughout their stay, thus ensuring that on their return home they will spread the good word!
